Pelee Island’s Transportation Needs to be Studied
McGuinty Government Assesses Future Travel Demands
Ontario is evaluating transportation services to and from Pelee Island and opportunities to improve the movement of people and goods.
This study will help the Ministry of Transportation develop a long-term transportation strategy for the island.
Public information open houses will begin in spring 2010. The study is expected to be completed by the end of 2010.
“This study will result in a long-term strategy that will help residents make their way to and from Pelee Island in a way they may not have been able to before.”
- Bruce Crozier, MPP Essex
“With the economy closely tied to tourism, this travel study is essential to ensure that residents and visitors can reliably make their way to Pelee Island for years to come.”
